The FAMA/FEMSA 2022 Hill Day will be held April 6-7 in Washington D.C.

March 8, 2022

The FAMA/FEMSA 2022 Hill Day will be held April 6-7 in Washington D.C. in conjunction with the CFSI’s 32th Annual National Fire and Emergency Services Dinner and Seminars.

Please register online. Deadline for Hill Day registration has been extended to March 11, 2022. For Hill Day planning, we encourage you to register early and go to the CFSI website, cfsi.org, to secure your room for the event.

2022 will be a critical year for future funding of the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program and SAFER. FY 2022 funding for the Department of Homeland Security may continue to be contentious during the current political environment, given the COVID pandemic. It is, therefore, extremely important that we educate both seasoned and new members of Congress “in person” on the importance of these programs to maintaining the public’s safety. We encourage you to participate in our first “in person” Hill Day since 2020.

As in previous years, participants will be assigned a Hill Day team that will make congressional visits over the two-day period, including your own congressional delegation. The office of our GAC Sr. Adviser, Dave Gatton, will develop each team’s schedule of meetings, in addition to the necessary resource materials.

We do not know what COVID protocols will be in place this coming April for entering Congressional offices, so please register early so we can begin to work with offices in the arrangement of meetings. It is also the case that this year’s teams may increase in number but be smaller in size, as we accommodate COVID protocol preferences of each Congressional office.

2022 Hill Day will begin with our Orientation and Legislative Briefing at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 6th at the Hilton Washington Hotel (Room: TBD). Please (click here) for the Preliminary Agenda for 2022 Hill Day. We will abide by COVID protocols of the Washington Hilton Hotel and District of Columbia, and, as mentioned above, Congressional Offices.

Information on tickets for the CFSI Fire and Emergency Services Dinner on Thursday, April 7th  is available at cfsi.org. CFSI has also indicated they will follow the most current COVID protocols for attending indoor events.
