The following letter was received today from David Farr, Chairman and CEO of Emerson:
I was proud to join fellow manufacturing leaders at the White House on Monday to meet with Vice President Mike Pence about the importance of our new trade agreement with Mexico and Canada, the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement.
But the vice president also made one thing clear: the USMCA won’t pass unless Congress hears more from manufacturers.
This is a critical moment for manufacturers to activate. Hundreds of manufacturers, including members of my team at Emerson, are on Capitol Hill today, and we will be welcoming key lawmakers to our facilities in August to show them firsthand why North American trade is so important. I hope you will be able to join me in doing the same next month when members of Congress are back home.
We have to keep up the pressure. So start by emailing your member of Congress and encouraging your team to do the same, and let the NAM team know how else you’re able to take action. They are ready to help you to engage your employees and bring key members of Congress to your facility.
Please take action now to help all manufacturers in America.
Thanks,
David N. Farr
