Hill Day Informational Webinar: The FAMA/FEMSA GAC will host a Hill Day Informational Webinar to provide an overview on Hill Day and to address any questions or concerns before the registration deadline. This session will take place on Thursday, November 21st, 2024 at 3:45pm ET. A separate notice will be sent to FAMA & FEMSA membership on how to participate. We encourage all members to attend. For questions about registration, please contact James Kirby at [email protected].
Why Your Participation is Important: 2025 is a critical year! We must continue to educate a new Congress and new Administration on the growing importance of the AFG and SAFER programs! It is essential that we continue to secure funding for AFG and SAFER, especially as growing budgetary pressures and political interests shape the future of Department of Homeland Security funding for FY 2026. Additionally, following the reauthorization of AFG and SAFER this year, it is critical to personally thank the members of Congress who were instrumental in its passage. With the increasing frequency and intensity of natural disasters, we must remind Congress of the vital role local first responders play, as they are first on the scene and the last to leave.
Hill Day Logistics: GAC Senior Adviser Dave Gatton and his team will facilitate the entire process, including arranging all congressional visits. FAMA/FEMSA Hill Day participants will be assigned to teams, with meetings scheduled with their own congressional representatives. The team will also provide all necessary resource materials and meeting schedules. Register early so Dave Gatton’s team can begin setting up meetings promptly. The early start of the 2025 Hill Day makes early registration critical for organizing these meetings.
