On Tuesday, July 7, the House Appropriations Homeland Security Subcommittee held a FY2021 appropriations markup. Click here for full bill text.
The legislation provides:
$385 million for Assistance to Firefighter Grants (AFG); and
$385 million for Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response Grants (SAFER).
These programs were each funded at $355 million for FY 2020.
Proposed funding levels for USAR and the U.S. Fire Administration have yet to be released – the FAMA/FEMSA GAC will follow up as soon as those figures are available.
