Fouts Bros Inc. Hosts Successful “Home Day” to Celebrate Growth and Support for Georgia’s First Responders
Fouts Bros Inc. proudly hosted its inaugural “Home Day” event at the company’s corporate headquarters in Milledgeville, Georgia, on Thursday, November 7th, 2024. The event, which was attended by state and federal government officials, industry leaders, and local community members, highlighted the company’s long-standing commitment to manufacturing life-saving equipment for fire service and emergency responders across North America, as well as its impact on local employment and the economy.
As a valued member of the Fire Apparatus Manufacturers’ Association (FAMA), Fouts Bros Inc. used this event to showcase the company’s growth and its role in supporting the fire service industry. In his keynote address, The Honorable Austin Scott, U.S. Congressman for District 8, spoke to the critical importance of the fire and emergency services sector, recognizing Fouts Bros Inc. for its significant contributions to Georgia’s workforce and its ongoing dedication to keeping first responders equipped with the equipment and tools they need to save lives.
Following Congressman Scott’s remarks, attendees participated in guided tours of the Fouts Bros manufacturing facility, where they had the opportunity to witness firsthand the state-of-the-art fire apparatus, emergency vehicles, and specialized equipment being manufactured by the company. With nearly 1,000 Georgia residents employed in the manufacturing and distribution of fire and emergency service equipment, the event underscored the company’s role as a major local employer and economic contributor.
“We are grateful to all who joined us for Home Day,” said Scott Edens, Fouts Bros Inc. President and CEO. “This event was a wonderful opportunity to showcase the progress we’ve made over the past seven decades as a family-owned business. We are proud of our dedicated team and the work we do every day to manufacture equipment that helps keep our communities safe.”
A key focus of Home Day was the critical funding for federal and state-level support for fire departments, emergency service agencies, and first responder training facilities. Special attention was given to the federal Assistance to Firefighters Grants (AFG) and SAFER Grants, which provide crucial funding for fire departments across the country, including Georgia. During the event, Fouts Bros Inc. leadership shared their recent advocacy efforts during “Hill Day” in Washington, DC, where they worked alongside nearly 200 fire chiefs and fire service industry peers to ensure continued funding for these vital programs. Fouts Bros is proud of its role in advocating for the resources that allow Georgia’s first responders to better protect and serve their communities.
“We recognize the importance of supporting our firefighters and first responders across the country, of which more than 70% are volunteers,” said Gary Pacilio, Executive VP of Operations at Fouts Bros Inc. and current President of FAMA. “By ensuring that congress appropriates the critical funding for grants like AFG and SAFER, we help support first responders with the critical equipment and assets needed to serve their local communities
